Nothing is more important to us than supporting local through and through. That is why we proudly partner with locally sourced vendors and suppliers within our community. We are also committed to operating our casino in a way that has a meaningful impact in strengthening our local economy and creating a sustainable and vibrant community to call home.  In comparison to online iGaming operators who are only taxed 20% of their total earnings, Ontario brick-and-mortar casinos include a 55% taxation rate, with 100% of payments from host communities being reinvested into the province of Ontario to support programs and services that benefit us all. With approximately $6 million in proceeds paid to the City of Ottawa per year (from OLG, as a result of proceeds from Rideau Carleton Racetrack Casino) benefiting local communities and contributing to economic recovery, and an additional $1 million per year from OLG in local sponsorships and charitable donations, Rideau Carleton Casino, Future Hard Rock, has had a significant impact on the Ottawa area.  The facility is also a significant driver of job creation and employment, having employed over 700 local residents prior to the pandemic.

SUPPORTING LOCAL COMMUNITY

Supporting local businesses is part of our DNA at Rideau Carleton Casino, Future Hard Rock. Operating at the intersection of where play meets purpose, we are focused on supporting local not-for-profit and community organizations, and contributing to the social fabric of our local community. That’s why we have partnered with organizations such as Gees Bees Honey, enabling them to harvest fresh honey on our very own property and in direct support of both our environment and a thriving local economy. Through deep-rooted community involvement, we are an active supporter of local community groups and associations. We have been proud to host local community events such as The Capital Fair on our grounds year after year, in addition to offering financial assistance in direct support of local Osgoode, Greely and Barrhaven Community Associations. In total, over $1M annually is donated in support of local sponsorship and charities on the behalf of Rideau Carleton Casino, Future Hard Rock.
