Helen MacMillan, General Manager, Rideau Carleton Casino/Future Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)

Known as an industry expert in both Canada and the U.S, Helen has 20 years of experience in the casino and hospitality industry, working in management, strategic advisory, and senior executive roles for renowned organizations including Caesar’s Entertainment, Park Place Entertainment, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, and Hard Rock International.

In 2018, Helen was listed as one of the Top 10 Women in Gaming by Global Gaming Business, Las Vegas. She has been Canada’s representative on the board of Directors for Global Gaming Women, as well as the Co-Chair of their Education Committee, where she provided mentorship, education, and scholarships to support women in the gaming industry for over seven years. Currently, she has her sights set on being the first Hard Rock property in Canada to introduce The Seminole Hard Rock Women in Leadership program, which was created to promote the growth and advancement of Women in Leadership roles within our workforce. Helen is a strong believer in playing an active role in the community in which we live and work and is a proud contributor to the Women’s Business Network in Ottawa. This non-profit association is dedicated to continuously supporting and celebrating the business success of women in the national capital region of Canada.

Helen has been invited as a guest speaker at numerous industry events, including Women in Leadership Conferences in both Halifax and Vancouver, as well as speaking engagements for the Global Gaming Expo held annually in Las Vegas. In 2022, Helen was acknowledged as a recipient of the Patricia Becker Pay it Forward Award on the behalf of Global Gaming Women for her commitment to the development and advancement of women in the casino industry. 

In November 2019, Helen became the General Manager of Ottawa’s Rideau Carleton Casino and is now overseeing major developments as the casino transitions into Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa.
